AC and heating repair in The Woodlands

The part that broke usually isn't the whole story. A capacitor can cook because the outdoor coil was caked with dirt, for example. Put in a new capacitor, leave the coil dirty, and you'll be calling again. So we run the whole system and test it, not just the dead part.

Then we explain it in normal words and give you a price. Nothing gets done until you say so. Sometimes a repair is the smart move. Sometimes it isn't, and we'll say that out loud. Read more about how we diagnose and repair AC and heating.

  • AC running but the house won't cool
  • Heater blowing cold air or shutting off early
  • A system that won't start, or keeps starting and stopping
  • Breakers tripping, odd smells or ice on the lines

Recent work in The Woodlands

In July 2026 we pulled a failing rooftop package unit off a Woodlands dental office and set a new 4-ton RTU with an electric heat kit.

A Woodlands home had one supply run blowing nothing in March 2025. We tracked it down, recharged the refrigerant and got cool air coming out of that dead duct again.

And in August 2024 a dental studio called with no cooling. That job took a filter drier, a TXV and a high-pressure cut-off, plus recovering and recharging the refrigerant.

When it's time to replace

Eventually another repair stops making sense. At that point we look at your house, size the new equipment to it, and talk through the choices with you before anything is ordered. More on how we plan a system replacement.

In between, the Velocity Care maintenance plan keeps an eye on things with two visits a year and a photo checklist you can look at yourself. Here's why regular maintenance matters. With October here, the fall heating visit is next. If your heater hasn't run since last winter, our fall checklist for switching from AC to heat is worth a read.

Commercial work

Homes are most of our work in The Woodlands, but you saw the dental office jobs above. Our Class A license carries no tonnage limit, so rooftop units across Greater Houston are fair game. See commercial HVAC in Houston, or go ahead and request service in The Woodlands.

The Woodlands HVAC questions

Do you work in The Woodlands? You're based in Tomball.

We do. The Woodlands is a short drive from our shop in Tomball, and it's a regular part of our Greater Houston work. We're family-owned, insured and Class A licensed (TACLA153648C).

Which villages do you cover?

We go to all eight villages, so Alden Bridge, Cochran's Crossing, College Park and Creekside Park, plus Grogan's Mill, Indian Springs, Panther Creek and Sterling Ridge. We also take calls around the Town Center and Research Forest districts. Wondering about your exact street? Mention it in the request and we'll let you know.

My AC runs but the house won't cool. What do you check first?

We check it while it's running. A dirty coil, a weak capacitor and a restricted return can all feel the same from the living room, so we look at airflow, the electrical side, refrigerant and controls until we know which one it is. Nothing gets replaced before that.

How often should I get my AC and heater serviced? Do you have a maintenance plan in The Woodlands?

Twice a year. Once before it gets hot, once before it gets cold. Velocity Care handles both, with a photo checklist each time. Members also pay less for repairs and get moved up the schedule during normal hours.

Who does AC repair in The Woodlands on a Saturday?

Velocity Air does. We cover all eight villages and are open 24 hours Monday through Saturday, closed Sunday. Call (832) 589-0813.

The system in our village home is getting old. Should we repair it or replace it?

If one part failed and the rest is sound, repair it. If the equipment is older and keeps needing major repairs, like a compressor, a coil or a leak that keeps coming back, we'll tell you when a repair isn't worth it, size a new system to your house and let you decide.

What does a diagnostic visit cost in The Woodlands?

A residential diagnostic in The Woodlands is $89. We waive it 100% when we make the repair or you buy a system from us.

Is there financing for a new HVAC system in The Woodlands?

Yes. Velocity Air offers 0% financing over 5 years, subject to credit approval.

What's the difference between Velocity Care Comfort and Preferred?

Both include a spring cooling tune-up, a fall heating tune-up, member repair discounts and priority scheduling. Preferred adds a larger repair discount, an equipment discount and stronger priority.
