Larry Hough founded Velocity Air after a lifetime in the trade. His son Stefin, Director of Operations, brought that same standard into homes across Houston — without the commission culture that wrecks trust.

The Hough standard
“I’ve been working in this industry for 40 years,” Larry Hough says. “My step-dad owned an air conditioning business, and I started working with him when I was about 16. By 25, I was running it. That experience taught me that it’s not about how many jobs you do, it’s about doing them right.”
Velocity Air A/C & Heating was founded in 2019 on that idea. Larry had already spent decades on commercial work — tilt-wall buildings, small hospitals, systems that cannot afford a guessing tech. Stefin, Director of Operations, saw that the same honesty was missing from residential service. Together they built a company that does both, with one rule: technicians are not chasing commissions.
When techs aren’t chasing commissions, they can focus on what’s best for the customer instead of trying to make as much money as possible. That is why clients keep asking for Stefin by name, and why we will tell you to repair a 14-year-old system when replacement would pad the invoice.
